The Crescent Shopping Centre will light its Christmas tree this Friday, 24 November at 5pm in the central concourse of the popular shopping destination. The free event will feature special guests, the Limerick Panto Society, accompanied by the Unity Gospel Choir. There will be treats and sweets for the kids.
The Crescent will also host Black Friday on the same day, so visitors can avail of deals on Christmas shopping and enjoy the festivities of the tree lighting ceremony. Black Friday will see offers from select retailers from 9.30am to 9pm and the addition of new, big brand retailers now open on the City Mall, including Gap Outlet, Superdry and Selected Femme/Homme.
But that won’t be the end of Christmas celebrations. Santa Claus will drop into the Crescent Shopping Centre on Sunday, 26 November at 1pm. He will arrive in a horse-drawn magic sleigh to meet all the kids and families at the Garryowen Mall entrance (next to River Island) before making his way through the malls with musical accompaniment and lively activity to Santa’s new cabin, located in the City Mall. Visitors should keep an eye out for Santa’s footprints as any easy way to find him.
Adults and children are invited to join the parade to lead Santa down to his North Pole Cabin, while he meets and greets all the children in attendance. There will be lots of family entertainment, including the Limerick Panto Society dressed in colourful costumes and full of fun, handing out sweets and lollipops to children.
“The Crescent Shopping Centre serves as a place of tradition at Christmas time for many communities and families in the region over the last 44 years,” Crescent Shopping Centre Manager John Davitt said. “We look forward to welcoming Santa, who will be in his new North Pole cabin on the City Mall from Sunday, 26 November every day until Christmas Eve. We look forward to welcoming our customers to the Crescent this Christmas period and to events over the weekend when Christmas officially kicks off at the Crescent Shopping Centre”
“The centre offers great gift ideas along with the Crescent Gift Card for those that like to pick their own present, eateries and of course the 12-Screen Cinema to entertain young and old this festive season” he said.
The Crescent Shopping Centre will start its Christmas late opening hours from Thursday, 7 December. The Crescent Shopping Centre has over 90 stores and services as well as boasting top brands and free parking.
